‘Space Between Scenes’

10th Anniversary Exhibition - Praxis ARTSPACE

‘The Dance’ what constructed in response to ‘Space Between Scenes’ which asked artists to explore constructed realities and suspended beliefs, focusing on moments between spectacle and everyday ritual.

This work considers underlying structure through form and material. Gestures are subtle rather than theatrical, and objects operate through use, touch, and proximity. Meaning emerges through attention and participation, shaped by an engagement with material presence rather than spectacle.

By foregrounding materiality, the installation speaks to the intimate and the everyday—where small actions and familiar forms hold quiet significance. The work understands ritual not as performance, but as something instinctive and ongoing, embedded within daily rhythms and repeated gestures.

Grounded in organic form-making and intuitive processes, The Dance’ occupies a space between object and experience. It invites a slower mode of looking, encouraging reflection on the unseen forces that shape how we relate to objects, environments, and one another.
